"EcoShelf" company
was founded in 1993. The company has got a states
license for applied met-ocean explorations for projecting
and building of coastal and off-shore constructions.
In circumstances of hard economical situation in Russia
and insufficient financing for research institutions
and scientific projects, a group of specialists in high-latitude
environmental studies from the Arctic and Antarctic
Research Institute (AARI) erected a research and practical
company "EcoShelf". Unity and high professional
level of the staff allowed the company to survive in
the period of country's economical shocks and become
known both in Russia and in the World Polar Science society.
Among clients and partners of "EcoShelf" there
are leading oil and gas companies, famous research institutions,
universities and research centers from all over the World.
The company carried out projects for International Arctic
Science Committee, National Oceanographic Data Center
of the USA, Norwegian Polar Institute, Arctic Center
of the University of Lapland, University of Alaska Fairbanks,
Alfred Wegener Institute of Marine Research from Germany,
National Institute of Polar Research from Japan, oil
companies Mobil, Norsk Hydro, Amoco, and others.
During years of its practical activity "EcoShelf"
collected unique and reach experience in organization
and carrying out research expeditions, applied explorations,
scientific research and creation of scientific equipment.
Our company arranged and
carried out an international expedition to Taimyr Peninsula
and Severnaya Zemlya Archipelago, a 3-year long German-Russian
glaciological expedition to Academii Nauk Ice Cap (Severnaya
Zemlya Archipelago), several complex (including airborne
sea ice photography) marine expeditions
in the Pechora Sea, Japanese-Russian glaciological expedition
to Sofiisky Glacier in Altai Mountains, and others.
The company together with "Giprospetsgaz"
institute and AARI took part in pre-feasibility study
of Pechenga port project.
"EcoShelf" designed
and manufactured special thermal
drilling equipment for ice drilling and measurements
of pressure ridges, stamukhas and sea ice.
Our company provides management and consulting services
in the field of hydrometeorology and ecology in cold
climate and polar regions.
The company carries out English-Russian and Russian-English
translations of scientific and technical texts.
