Pechora Sea 1996-1998
Each spring in 1996-1998
our company took part in organization, preparation and
logistic support of marine and helicopter field works
in the Pechora Sea. The goal of the expeditions was
to obtain quantitative characteristics of ice and met-ocean
regime in the area of the oil field "Prirazlomnoye"
of Varandeiskaya and Medynskaya structures. Principal
attention was paid to stamukhas and pressure ridges
study. In situ ice studies were carried out by deploying
people from the vessel's board and from helicopter MI-8.
Assistance of our company in preparation and field work
gave a possibility to eliminate technical and financial
problems. After the expeditions in St. Petersburg we
took part in data processing obtained in the field and
from archives. In 1997 and 1998 we organized and carried
out airborne photography in the area in question for
evaluation of spatial variability of pressure ridges
sails.
