Pechora Sea 2001
In winter-spring period
2001 our company took part in two scientific expeditions
"Pechora-Lukon-Winter-2001" and "Shtockman-2001'.
The goal of the expeditions was investigation of ice
conditions and morphometric parameters of the sea ice
cover in the Pechora Sea and in the area around Shtockman
oil field. Ice studies were carried out from the board
of r/v "Mikhail Somov" and from the helicopter
MI-8. We used our thermal drilling
equipment for drilling the ice and measuring ice
thickness and determining consolidation of pressure
ridges and stamukhas. We also took part in the data
processing.
